BMI has partnered with the Big South Conference and its member institutions for over ten years. I have never experienced a more professional, customer service driven group than BMI. They truly care for their clients, working tirelessly to find solutions to the needs of the institutions and their student-athletes. I value partnerships where the parties look out for one another in every sense of the word. Over many years, I have learned that BMI is always seeking ways to save money for our member schools, while at the same time they support the programming we offer to our students as an enhancement to their every day lives. We are pleased to have had the chance to build a relationship with BMI over the past several years. The opportunity to receive education, guidance and updates from Rob McCloskey and Pete Ginnegar at our annual meetings has allowed both the conference and our member schools to have a better understanding of sports insurance and how best to serve their athletic programs and student-athletes. In several cases, schools have chosen to shift their plans to BMI, leading to better coverage and/or insurance administration.

BMI has been an ongoing corporate sponsor of the MAAC for many years and we are appreciative of their relationship with the conference. The MAAC postgraduate scholarship was created and is funded by BMI. The intent of the scholarship is to promote and encourage academically and athletically accomplished student-athletes to continue their education by attending graduate school. Two (2) $1,000 scholarships are awarded, one to a deserved male and one to a deserved female. The program aims to reward those individuals whose dedication and effort are reflective of those characteristics necessary to succeed and thrive through postgraduate studies.

I have worked with BMI at past institutions and wanted to get them on board here at Winthrop. I believe they go the extra mile for their clients.  I have been happy with their service and commitment to doing what’s in the best interest of the institution.

I was very fortunate to learn about Bob McCloskey Insurance many years ago while working in Virginia at the Division I level. After many years of excellent collaborations there, BMI was one of my first calls I made when I transitioned to Division II in 2011. Rob and his team have been excellent partners in helping me secure outstanding coverage for my athletes. I have been an ATC for over 20 years. BMI offers a superior customized product for our institution along with fantastic customer service. From the owners, all the way to the claim reps I have felt like BMI is a part of our sports medicine team. They are quick to respond to questions regarding the policy, up to date on trends in the industry, and they make the job of filing claims and managing claims a breeze. When I direct student-athletes, parents, or our providers to BMI for follow-up regarding claim concerns I never hear back that they did not know what was going on or could not resolve an issue.
